  • Yes. Counseling is strictly confidential. There are a few situations in which the law requires that confidentiality can be broken, which are as follows: suspected child abuse/neglect (which will be reported to appropriate State or local authorities), danger to self or others, a court order, and in the treatment of minors to parents or a legal guardian. Additionally, a judge can also subpoena your records for a variety of reasons, and if this happens, we must comply. Your Counselor will discuss this with you during the intake appointment. You may release information to anyone whom you choose.

  • At the present time, counseling is only via a telehealth platform (video counseling through a secure platform). Telehealth provides the opportunity to attend counseling from the comfort of your own home or office, saving you travel time and without having to take extra time away from work or home! You are welcome to attend counseling in comfy clothes, with a mug of your favorite coffee or tea, a cozy blanket, or even a pet! The only requirements for telehealth are that you will need to have reliable internet and be in a room by yourself. Additionally, you will need to be physically located within the state of Indiana for your session and will need to provide the Counselor with the address that you are at during your appointment. Telehealth counseling gives you far more flexibility than in-person counseling appointments, leaving you more comfortable and decreasing the need for late cancellation or no-show appointments (for which you get charged). Clients experience numerous benefits of telehealth whether juggling demands between work and life or being able to attend even when feeling under the weather (if they feel up to it)!

  • Before the initial appointment, you will submit a credit card authorization form. Your credit card will automatically be charged following each appointment. Additionally, you will be charged for any late cancellations or no shows as identified in our policies and procedures and the consent for treatment form. This streamlined process for paying your bill will make payment easier for you and keeps our costs lower!

My fees are $125 per hour for each individual session. The initial intake session is $140.

  • To schedule an initial appointment, please send an email to caroline@landmarkcounseling.org or fill out the contact form (see above).

  • The initial appointment will be a chance for policies and procedures to be reviewed, and for you to ask questions regarding the functioning of the counseling center and what you can expect from treatment. The Counselor will review intake paperwork with you and will spend the majority of time getting a “big picture” idea of who you are, as well as discussing your reasons and concerns for seeking counseling. The Counselor and Client will work together to create goals for treatment.

  • At this time, we do not accept insurance. However, if you choose, you may be able to submit receipts to your provider for any possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you choose to apply for reimbursement through your insurance, please understand that the medical information necessary to submit this reimbursement claim to your insurance will include your diagnosis and will go on your permanent medical record.

By not utilizing insurance, you will not have your mental health information (including a diagnosis) go into your permanent medical record, which is otherwise required by insurance companies.

  • When we place you on our schedule, we do not double book, and that time is set aside specifically for you. When you do not attend your scheduled session, we miss out on the opportunity to serve other individuals. Should you need to cancel or reschedule your session for any reason, we request a 24-hour notice in order to be able to schedule someone else in that time slot. Having less than a 24-hour notice makes it difficult for us to find someone else to re-fill that slot.

If you do not cancel with at least a 24-hour notice, you will be charged the full fee for the session.

  • We know that it’s important for you to feel comfortable with your counselor and find the right fit for someone who will journey alongside you, so we offer a free 20-minute consultation for those interested in services. It will give you a chance to describe your particular reasons and concerns for seeking counseling, ask any questions about our training and experience, and help you feel more comfortable with us. This will not be a treatment-based conversation, but rather to determine if we are a good fit in working towards your goals. You can schedule this by clicking the “contact us” button above or by emailing caroline@landmarkcounseling.org

  • No. For individuals to attend counseling through Landmark Counseling, they need to be within the physical boundaries of the state of Indiana.

  • Yes. When you contact Landmark Counseling, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate, which is required under the “No Surprises Act”. This will outline the fees of different services and what you would be expected to pay. You are free to ask any questions about this process. It is encouraged that you keep a copy of your completed Good Faith Estimate.
